

Back in 1992 I was getting disillusioned by the food in particular the meat on offer in supermarkets and after much consideration I became vegetarian vowing that I wouldn’t eat meat again until I grew it myself. Since then I also avoided supermarkets whenever possible and have become convinced that shopping locally is the best thing for our family. Two years ago we reared our first flock of poultry for the table. Following the success of the chickens and turkeys we reared we became convinced that taking on the challenge and reward of rare breed pigs was our ultimate aim.

From day one we knew this would only be a sustainable hobby if we made it a profitable one so set about the project in a business like way. A hobby like this can very quickly become a massive drain on the pocket. We are now passionate about protecting rare breeds of pig but for our efforts to be successful we need a good loyal customer base for our premium products. So ensuring the survival of our herd and hopefully a more stable future for the breeds in the long term.
We recognise the financial outlay on buying a side of pork is a considerable one but we believe you will get great value for money.
